SIIC filter elements used in Deep Well Injection (Water Disposal)

As filtration specialist, SIIC team from Shanghai Filterworkshop Co., Ltd(Shanghai Indro Industry Co., Ltd) is very glad to share with about “SIIC filter elements used in Deep Well Injection (Water Disposal)” as followings:

Deep Well Injection (Water Disposal) process is as followings:

Storage tank---prefilter---final filter---disposal well

In the process of pre filter, 20-25 micron SIIC standard polyester/polypropylene felt filter bags or melt blown pp filter cartridges are used. The purpose is keep well formation open and capable of receiving injected water.

In the process of final filter, 5-20 micron SIIC standard polyester/polypropylene felt filter bags or melt blown pp filter cartridges are used.

Application: Oil & Gas Production; Deep Well Injection

Purpose of Filtration: Keep the well formation open and capable of receiving injected water.

Application: When oil and gas are produced, the product is accompanied by water; known as produced water. The water is separated from hydrocarbon liquids by use of oil/water separators. The water is stored in storage tanks on site. Tank trunks vacuum out the water and take it to a disposal well site. Depending on local regulations, the waste is either discharged on the ground, into pits or ponds, or injected back into under-ground formations. Disposal sites are also prone to receiving highly contaminated liquid from reserve pits, drilling fluids, etc. Disposal sites will typically have oil removal systems prior to filtration followed by high pressure injection pumps (800 - 1200+ psi is not uncommon).

The number one priority for filtration is to protect the formation into which the water is being injected from plugging with particulate and oils. Typically the formation being injected into are well known by operators in the area. Operators will filter as minimally as possible and are seeking low maintenance (few change-outs). If a well becomes plugged (downhole pressure increases), a well would have to be re-worked with costs ranging from thousands of dollars to several hundred thousand. When this occurs, an improvement of filtration is considered.

It is critical that filtration and other equipment remove oil prior to injection as it will do more to gum up the well than particulate alone.

INDRO Product: 20-25 micron PE/PP felt filter bags, 5-20 micron melt blown pp filter cartridges,5-20 string wound filter cartridges.
